Usually, people don't ask for much. We're all just looking to love and to be loved... I completely get that. Rough childhoods will really screw somebody up.

It's great that she found you and you were able to help. Some people don't get that.

Hi, Jenn. I'm Amber. I'm pretty new here, too. I try to post as much as possible. Welcome to the group! Love the jokes, btw. I have a lot of emo friends, so I understand the jokes more than others might. Loved the pizza one. That was cute. I'll see if I can think of some for ya.

You may have the years.... but I power dove into life at a young age. I'm up there with experience....
2 kids
2 divorces
rock bottom....
bounced back with some attitude... lol

I don't get to get out much because I rarely have baby sitters and I don't drive... but I know they have a few country clubs...

Urban cowboys? Not by me... I wish, though.... lol.

Good for bouncing back! Three marriages for me...and I'm bouncing along!

You can't miss the urban cowboy...neatly pressed jeans and western shirt, very pointy cowboy boots where the heel curves toward the sole (riding boots-not made for walking) and the hat!

Most of them are scared to death of horses too!

Yeah... no Urban cowboys here.... but I live in Suburbia... just outside of Chicago... and my neighbors are all dead (cemetary)...lol...

Besides... not like any of 'em would notice me if they were around... guys in my neck of the woods tend to shy away from a woman with 2 kids...

and since babysitters are rare... I always have the kids with me...

maybe I need to find a nice single dad... lol

Cemetary...must be very quiet where you live...there must be a park or other such place(s) around where single weekend dads take their kids?

Is there a shortage of reliable babysitters in suburbia?

It's having the money to PAY a sitter.

I work my ass off, live on my own, pay all my bills and daycare... raising 2 kids without any financial assistance. My kids' dads are both deadbeats- no support of any kind (emotional, physical or financial) to their kids...

In suburbia, mostly the moms take the kids to the park... or they're all happy little families....

Wow...sounds like suburbia sucks! But it also sounds like you are doing right by your children and i for one am very proud of you for that!

You are new here, singing, and there are a lot of great people on this site. I know Lex has a gripe about the lack of Chicago participants, but there are plenty of people in the tri-state area that belong to this place.

Maybe this is a good outlet for you to get some grown up conversation? And perhaps meet someone nice? A single working mother such as you deserves that and more!
