How do you deal with being a friend with the person that you like? I'm friends with a person that I like, but that person just calls me and talks to me about their problems and about their different friendships. Would it be selfish of me to just tell that person that I'm sorry but don't want to hear about their problems. I like that person but I'm too chicken to tell that person.

You need to decide if you still want them to be a part of your life. Be a friend and keep them around if they mean that much to you. There may be a right time to tell them, but telling them that you don't want to hear about their problems will only send them away. If nothing else, they are always going to remember you as a good friend if you stand by them...and sometimes, that means more than anything. good luck.

Then got to change the signals from just wanting to be a friend to being something more |

Most relationships start off solidly on a good friendship first & foremost. If you can't take the time to listen to their problems then maybe you're not quite the friend they need. If there's no open communication then what's left?
