Who are you really, behind that mask.

You know that mask you wear.

Like when you pretend to be a Christian,

and never swear, wholesome, sweet, a little dear.

Tell me what it was that gave you this fear.

Making you put-it-on, for everyone close and near.

As a child, did you find it just laying around.

You thought it helped you to never be found.

Did it allow you to laugh and lose that frown.

Is that when your world got turned upside down.

Putting it on to stop the pain, so you could smile like a clown.

Your'll never tell me where or when it came to be.

See, you have it on now, so you don't have to read me.

Your pain inside needs to come out, so you can put that mask away.

You can be everything you want to be, with being all-of-you, today.

Many people wear their masks, to hide THAT PERSON INSIDE THEM
that they feel won't understand them, addicts, abuser's, thieves, liar's, cheater's, gambler's, alcoholic's,,,and on and on..

Mask's might seem to help keep secrets or truths hidden..

But through using them, they rob you of ever knowing just how special you could be, w/o feeling you need to have them..

PLEASE,,think about all those little secrets that you hide.
And make a change to stop doing them or open your whole person to someone close, to HELP YOU WITH THEM..
JUST BE "YOU", and the real PEOPLE in your life,,will STILL LOVE YOU.

LOL,,,,I have worn some masks before,,I think we ALL have at one time or another,,,but SOME,,,NEVER REMOVE THEIR'S,,,and THATS scary.

When I was in the drug rehab program we did a poster of the many mask we wear. At the time I was the skeleton wearing mask for all to see so I could cover up the dead/empty feelings inside. Learned a lot about the mask wearing then. Nice write!
