Never took any trips out west <on my bucket list>, never took a trip up the east coast <on my bucket list>, never seen Texas...also on my bucket list. My favorite trip to date was a trip my girlfriend and I took to Tennessee to go horseback riding. There were four bikes...two couples and two of us that were solo. We headed out from Michigan and picked up the Blue Ridge Parkway and rode that as far as we could. It was the end of August and the weather was perfect...not a drop of rain! I had a Honda 1100 at that time and it rode like a dream. I sometimes wonder how the trip would have been on my Sporty that I later got after selling the honda <lol>. We stopped in Cherokee to pick up a Native American Flute then made our way to TN to the log cabin on the hill <of which my riding partner drove my bike up to because he knew I'd spill lol>
<small pea gravel>. My girlfriend forewarned me that her brothers were light packers and washed their underware and hung them to dry so I don't get embarassed. Well....aunt Martha came for a visit and it was ME who had to wash mine out and they hung proudly on the mantle next to the mens laugh . The horseback ride through the mountains was spectacular, the hottub was delicious and the fun company will always be the highlight of an era of my life.

nice story winter, and i think you know the difference between the honda and the sporty. i've got a kawasaki 750vulcan and have been storing a sportster 1200 low for a few months now. most girls prefer riding on the vulcan

Well I'm a long hauler from Canada and I usually head south for some pass. In 2007 did the Lolo pass,
beautiful ! In 2008 headed for the Beartooth pass and that was awesome even though the weather wasn't the best that day, South to Cody turned east to the Black Hills and spent 5 days exploring that area . 2010 through the south end of Yellowstone to Cody again and then on down to Cheyenne through the Wind River reserve. From there to Denver as I didn't have a hat from there so that was reason enough . Over to Utah and back up through Idaho into Montana on my way home.
And there I have another 4000 Mi. journey under my belt . Soon I hope (2012) back to Colorado to do the loop on the Million Dollar Highway as it is called . Another pass on my list is the Upper Big Horn . The real trick is to ride the pass on a good weather day . If there are any other must ride routes I would like here
about them for future riding journey's. Happiness is a dry road on two wheels !

Oh I know my ars would have been burning on the sporty <lol> and would not have had half the power going through the mountains. You think that was commical...should have seen me on my first bike....especially on the eway! It was a Honda 250 Rebel laugh
