well if you really didn't care to hear an opposing opinion, perhaps you should not have asked. but then again, what do i expect from someone that starts a thread and then has absolutely nothing to add to its content other than failed attempts at insulting people.

In my opinion as a sport hunting is disgusting.

Hunting when food is needed is another matter.

i love hunting but i am against people doing it for the sport.all the people that hunt in my family were taught to hunt to feed your family and don't waste any of the meat.

i don't even agree with these places that require a paid membership in order to hunt on the land and the game (deer,elk,buffalo,hogs....etc)are in fenced in land.i think it completely takes away from the hunting experience and i will say it is unfair hunting

I have no problem with hunting if its for food. However, I don't consider feeding corn and sitting up in a tree, swilling beer, hunting. That's baiting a cow and taking potshots at it until one hopefully kills it. Kinda negates the "gamey" taste one seeks in wild meat.

I don't go for the crock about population control, as I find the irony that we dare attempt to "control" other creatures populations, but not our own. Really, using that logic, every human on earth who is starving needs to be shot dead to protect them from their own misery.

Canned hunts, yeah right.

And the whole less expensive? I've never had that up to being cheaper then butchering ones own cow, much less buying from a butcher, or the supermarket.

Kc I try to respect my elders, seeing as you are eighty years old.
no what I give up on is even trying to reason with people that have thier mind set.
so to each their own, if you dont like to hunt then thats just you.
but dont look down your nose at another if thats what they like to do.
those that dont agree with hunting as a population control.
look up the facts. deaths caused by deer on our roadways.
insurance rates in areas with high deer populations.

and yes we as humans try to control ALL populations,

yes canned hunts suck, not any sport involved.

cost of a butchered beef, against the cost of deer hunting, ya it would be cheaper to go buy a beef for some.

ok now back to the op, hell yes I love to hunt, also I run a trap line, but olny to control all those damn beavers and muskrats that cause thousands of dollers worth of damage to pond dams and to the marshs that they can cause unbalance in if left on thier own.

oh by the way I bet if you ever eat at a Mc puke, butking,or hardlys
you may have ate a beef that I put on the truck. or some pork that you may have in your fridge may have passed by me also.

anyways you have a good day sir.

i didn't look down on anyone. the op is the one who started calling people names and acting like a sixth grader.

as i have said several times. i am not against hunting, i just dont see it as a sport. that is the part of the thread i addressed. maybe if you would have taken the time to read my post you would have understood this. instead, the first thing you said to me is that i have my head up my azz????? really?

open your eyes before you jump to conclusions. too much to ask?

i will give you this, at least now you have made an actual point instead of merely suggesting anatomical relocation exercises.

I don't hunt, but wouldn't mind picking off a few pesky rabbits that seem to invade my garden every year.

So is it true it is acceptable in the south to use a pickup truck instead of a gun to dispatch animals while hunting?

Turn on them headlights and watch that animal freeze before one and a half tons of pickup sends them to animal Valhalla and the dinner table?

Here is a song for all of you!

I think it's actually illegal to hunt like that, with a spotlight or anything.

ok this is for anyone to answer,,,, why do you feel that hunting is not a sport? I have heard this stated before. and I still dont understand why people say this.
I for one eat most everything that I hunt or trap, with the exception of skunks, and bobcats and coyotes .
now in order for me to pursue these animals I do a lot of miles a day walking in all kinds of weather. and this includes packing out what I end up with.
lol yep go ahead and hit a deer at 70 miles an hour and see what ya got left to drive.
as for the bunny troubles ,invest in some garden fence thats made to keep em out.
sorry not from the south, live right in the middle of everything.
I know of no where in the lower fourty eight that it is legal to spotlight.
oh I see the op is from England, very interesting.
