When I fell down the stairs at age 8 to see my mother placing gifts under the tree. Of course, I paid dearly for it, but that was it for me. |

I can't honestly remember when I stopped believing in Santa. I do, however, remember when I blew it and made a comment about Santa not being real to my son when he was about 7. He was devastated.

I never believed in Santa...it seemed to me, an improbable idea from a very young age.

I was about 5 or 6 when I stopped believing in Santa. It's just as well, I think it's all a marketing ploy..

I was about 5 or 6 when I stopped believing in Santa. It's just as well, I think it's all a marketing ploy.. There is a difference between knowledge and belief and hope, we need all three in spades! Interesting that you say that you "think it's all a marketing ploy"???? I wish you more faith and some holiday magic. Sometimes knowledge brings wisdom, faith allows us to hope but believing in magic brings us simple joy. |

Well, I don't believe in Santa but there are sure people that act like that. Got home from work tonight to open my door to a brand new bicycle. It was such a shock that I almost dropped my groceries. A friend of snuck in my house and left it there. I have never received such a generous gift like that and it truly brought me to tears.

My father told me when I was 10. I kinda already knew that he was not real, but I still believed. Maybe not him as one person going around the world in one night, but what he represents. The kindness, giving, sharing, the good joy and cheer he spreads to others. I think everybody could have a little bit of Santa in all of us if we just chose to believe. What a wonderful sentiment Merry Christmas to you ! |
