Another way to do it would be to sell the chips to players at a discounted rate. Sell high rollers 10k chips for 9k etc. You could go in play some cards and cash out. Buy in High, play low tables and cash out. The pit boss doesn't know what tables you are playing. Do this with a few people and you can cash out fine.

Survalliance would pick up on that.

Sure.....of course they would......most of the people buying them out probably wouldn't cash out they would probably lose it all.............and besides people with enough money to purchase them would be known for having money.....and a discounted rate is a good draw say they buy 10000 piece for 7000 grand still cheaper than what they would pay at the casino and they are gaining in the deal......I am pretty sure this person would not have done it if they didn't have a way to unload.....

APNewsBreak: Bellagio nixing $25K chip after theft

LAS VEGAS – Las Vegas casino bosses are serving notice to the bandit who made off with $1.5 million in chips from the Bellagio: Try to redeem those worth $25,000 soon or they'll become worthless.

Bellagio owner MGM Resorts International is giving public notice that it's discontinuing its standard chip valued at $25,000 and calling for all gamblers holding the chips to redeem them by April 22.

After that, gambling regulators say each red chip with a gray inlay won't be worth more than the plastic it's cast from.

MGM Resorts posted notice of the redemption last week in the classifieds of the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper. That's one week after a robber wearing a motorcycle helmet held up a craps table at gunpoint and made off with a bag of chips of varying denominations.

Ahhh but maybe this is what they were waiting for in order for suspicion to be aleveated and only to take so many to cash in maybe they weren't going for a million LPDON....maybe they were counting on the casino changing the chips and a call to cash in to alleviate the suspicion........

Doubtful. The major casinos have face recognition software and I am sure everyone who trades in a $25,000 chip gets looked at and ran.

He says the man wore a full-face motorcycle helmet and leather jacket.

He went to the casino pit area, displayed the gun, demanded chips, and fled the casino before speeding away on Flamingo Road on a black sport-style motorcycle.

Face recognition?

On their CCTV system. That casino has the best CCTV system and security set up available. That's how they pick up known cheats or people who have been 86'd or black boooked by the gaming commission. I guarantee when people cash in $25,000 chips someone upstairs is watching and they probably flag that person so they know when he is in again type of thing.

Am very sure they probably wouldn't go back in the future after cashing in.......
