only thing that gets me to work in the morning, son. I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea, but as for "pure energy"......there's no other music that comes close. Especially blast beats.

The term Death Metal appeared before today's death metal showed up. Many satanic thrash bands self proclaimed to be death metal. The evolution was a staggering process between terminology and the music itself. They definitely started what death metal is today though. Back in the day the terms thrash metal and death metal applied to a lot of the same bands where as today they are quite distinct.

I highly disagree. You must be thinking of Anthrax. Check this out.

As far as modern day death metal goes for me Amon Amarth is it! I like the old school black metal more: Venom, Bathory bands like that.

Who is this irresistible creature who has an insatiable love for the dead?

Rob Zombie is so not death metal dude. He's hardly even metal. He's more of an industrial hard rock like M.Manson.

Oh come on. He is so borderline. MManson does not even rate. God, that is like trying to say Danzig is Death Metal. Danzig SUCKS! Nuff said there.

Hell, there always is Sepultura.

He borderlines between rock and metal period. He's a cartoon character in the music industry. He is different than Manson yes but falls into the same category. Manson is a cartoon gimicy business man too. They both are industrial rock, neither group uses very much heavy metal technique, neither exceed tempos that will carry them beyond marching beats for the musically droned masses. There is a physical musical standard you need to meet before earning an extreme metal tittle. Death Metal is the most extreme sub genre of metal there is. It takes a hell of a lot of hard work and determination to get there and Zombie's music is quite opposite of extreme. He knows how to dress up for Halloween I'll give him that. Even White Zombie was low on the bar. Haha I have this same argument with my sister she just doesn't get it. I guess it takes a metal guitarist to see how these terms should not be thrown around loosely. Get to know real death metal and you will see that image and watered down theme don't mean squat. It's all in the musical essence. Saying that Zombie is borderline death metal is an insult to the genre. It's like saying Korn are amazing lead guitarists.

As far as death metal goes it sucks for overwhelming most part, again I like Amon Amarth and the inventors of the genre Venom, Bathory, Celtic Frost. The new wave of black/death metal doesn't really do it for me.

Last time I checked this thread was called death metal rules. And it does watch Cannibal play live or their studio recording clip of Frantic Disembowlment on you tube and then tell me they are not skilled musicians. There are **** bands in any genre though. But for the most part this one has the best guitarists and drummers for sure. You think it sucks because its too complicated for you to understand. Enjoy your slow novice level crap.
