in most of these cases, the persons in question started building loyalty under a false cause that appealed to a large group of their fellow countrymen. once they had enough followers their true intentions became more and more clear, but by then it was too late.

they were too powerful and anyone that dared oppose them were quickly and brutally dealt with. once the the momentum got past a certain point, no one would or could do anything about it, so it was best to fall in line and follow orders.

agreed, but that will never happen. they are too busy buying into the (R) vs (D) fight to understand that we are all in this together.
