One of the most beautiful and unique cities I have ever been to. So much going on all the time. Loved the Golden Gate Park, Sunset Cliffs and Lands End. OH yes, talk about beauty. Nothing like standing beside the Golden Gate bridge and losing your hat to the winds(smile). Muir Woods was lovely too. Anybody got anything to add?

been there, WAY too crowded. The pedestrians just walk out in front of cars with a lot more regularity than they do in good old Los Angeles. Too many homeless people hanging out, too many Illegal immigrants, too many PC losers, and I disagree with the local politics. It reminds me of a over crowded Hermosa Beach! Outside of San Fran it is nice. BUT once you been to the beaches here San Fran looses a lot of its charm! You want scenery? BIG SUR! NEED I SAY MORE? And it isn't that far away from San Francisco!
Like anything though apples and oranges! Some people love San Fran. Some don't. I think it is too crowded and that just wrecks the charm of it for me. I have been to NY too and THAT PLACE IS SO CROWDED! Napa is a great place to troll around and you also find Ballooning there! The legal way to get high! That is spitting distance from SF! Better yet, wine tasting in a balloon in Napa! That is the Shiznit! |

San Francisco is my favorite city in the US. I absolutely love it there and would consider living there if I could afford it. The last time I went, I stayed with friends in the Mission, which was a lot of fun. I've also stayed in the Marina.
It's an incredibly easy city to get around via public transportation. Outside of the city is nice as well. I fell in love with Half Moon Bay. |

The tenderloin is a WILD place! There be dragons there! I will say this, Chinatown SF is NOTHING like Chinatown LA! Chinatown SF is WAY better and I can find things there that I just cannot find here!

Even the touristy stuff in SF was fun. Alcatraz was pretty neat.

Even the touristy stuff in SF was fun. Alcatraz was pretty neat. Driving a bus there(as I have done) is a trippy thing. No parking , people walking in front of you, tight turns, and unfriendly grace. All of that being said, I still think it is one of the most beautiful cities on earth. Every city has its drawbacks and cons.Touristy stuff: Coit tower,(no bus traffic allowed) very small, million dollar properties below it, North Beach, Golden Gate, Etc. Had to work there for a week doing a convention in August. Have pics to prove the beauty of the city. Cable Cars and the ease of public Transportation is soooo cool. |

The best part of bus tours is you don't have to deal with the traffic logistics getting around a crowded city. You have to also do Fisherman's Wharf if you do a tourist trip there. It is one of the sort of forgotten attractions of SF. Everyone has to do Lombard St. Los Angeles used to have cable cars once upon a time like SF. Now we got Metro (BLECH).
Sf has its good points but going there by car is not one of them! Nice place for short visits but live there? Too crowded for me but hey, some people like crowds. BTW, there is banter Alcatraz may get torn down! That would suck if that happened! |

I absolutely adore SF. Probably my favorite U.S. city next to Houston. Totally different from here though. So beautiful and exciting. Yeah, there are a lot of homeless people, but I can overlook that. Would love to live there someday. Have even driven there, but thought I was going to have a heart attack.

I like to go to Pier 39 and see the sea lions. I have quite a few friends who have moved from this area (DC area) out to SF and absolutely love it. I have no doubt I'd love it too, but it's just too expensive for me right now. Public transportation in LA sucks from what I've seen. Then again, I didn't spend much time right downtown. Everything there is more spread out away from downtown. |

I used to watch the old show "Highway Patrol" with the late Broderick Crawford. I used to love to watch them go up and down those hills in those patrol cars with the long radio antennas. Just so cool and I wanted to go there. |

It is always Lombard street, Golden Gate Park, the Bridge, etc.. Also It rarely snows in SF and th3e winters are very mild compared to DC. That and you don't have to worry about getting car jacked or shot by a gangster like in DC. |

Oh. When I went to SF, everyone told me I should go to Fisherman's Wharf. So maybe that's why I'm confused as to why you think it's forgotten :).

Oh. When I went to SF, everyone told me I should go to Fisherman's Wharf. So maybe that's why I'm confused as to why you think it's forgotten :). They told me to take the Oracle people to Treasure Island for dinner and a free concert for them...... I was so confused as to what my purpose was for being there...... (Eh)(Eh).... Treasure Island was very unique because I had never been there prior to that. |
