I've seen a lot of Amish while riding greyhound. I sat next to one once, and he told me all about his life. It didn't take long. He was going to be a carpenter. As far as education, that was pretty much it. It was all about carpentry. He was one of the most considerate, straightforward, and guileless people I've met.

the amish people are of all types.there are:
hutterites(power DECENT indoor plumbing)elders have 1 phone total.used for emergency situations ONLY!
amish=STONE AGE=NO power,computers,phones(cell AND land),no vehicles that require gasoline,no big heavy tractors or other machinery that requires more than 5 horses to pull,they do BLACKSMITH tricks for welding.ALL farm work is done by MEN AND SONS ONLY.the women are NOT allowed to help with anything that is above plucking,gutting turkeys/chickens,or cleaning the dwellings.how do i know this? well i lived with the one colony for 1 month.i asked what the differences were between all and that is what i was told.
