For men in search, things would become very
simple and enjoyable. For most of us, we would
not be swarmed with responders as women are.

Of course, I'd still totally blow it, but it would be nice to have that kind of change.

I have no problem talking to a guy first, or even asking for a date if I'm interested. Why should I? Why stay stuck in that outdated role that people think women should be in? I've also never seen a guy get upset that I contacted them first and would venture to say that most men would be completely fine with it.

We live in modern times. Women are educated, career-minded, independent and in charge of their lives.

It’s not 1870! Yes, women should take control of their love lives as well and politely approach someone of interest; otherwise, they are allowing men (or women) to control their potential destiny.

It’s human nature to try, fail, succeed, learn and move forward. I believe this encompasses all areas of our existence.

Some men are intimidated by strong, ambitious women, therefore, not all men will respond in kind to a woman pursuing them. That’s ok though! There is someone for everyone.

I have made first contact with almost every guy I have become friends with here (including Mr. Orator) and both the guys I dated from here.

I have no problems initiating contact, on-line or in person. Never have actually. Remember all the boy/girl dances with the boys on one side and the girls on the other just stealing glances? Well I'm the one that would march right on over and take my pick! But then again, I was always the girl that was friends with all the guys so there wasn't much at stake for me unless I was truly interested in one of them.

Not much has changed....

I have long waited for this social tradition to be cast away. As a man, I love it when a woman approaches me first. It makes me feel good even if I'm not interested, whether it's appearance, personality, or chemistry.

Truth of the matter, too much of the burden is placed on men because we no longer live in an age where men are the breadwinners of the family. That's not to say that mothers have it easy, but rather that inequality breeds resentment. Maybe not right away, nor in every case. Still we see it all the time.

Personally, I find confidence in a woman to be sexy, just as women do in men. Taking the initiative is just one way a woman can demonstrate that quality right away.
