Yes, and I am STILL waiting from that long ago for a little.

My Mom, gramma & 3 sisters are coming to my place! We plan to go ride horses before dinner-YAY! Mom is making chicken & sausage gumbo with rice and I am making potato salad. I will attempt a pumpkin cheesecake as well-can't wait, love my family. Wish my brother & new sister-in-law could make it, but they need time to themselves on their new property so I will call and chat on FB with them.

My parents and I had Thanksgiving last night since I work Thursday, was a downsized version but included each of our favs! Ate to much and felt yucky all evening but managed to rally for the leftovers sandwich today!!!

Thanksgiving I will be alone and then I have my kids for the weekend. We'll be going to my dad's for ham dinner on Saturday.

Wanna trade? You work my crap job and I will be alone for you??

No really I am sorry you are going to alone. I have done that too and it kinda sucks. Do you have any plans, an afternoon movie, a fav meal you can make for yourself? It is hard to be alone, remember that if all else fails we Minglers are here for you!

Oh, I'm not sad about it at all. Guess I forgot to insert my smiley face.

But, thank you for the kind words. I am actually going to have a very relaxing day alone and enjoy the weekend with the family.

Exactly. Without any friends or family, I really have nothing much to celebrate. You get used to it eventually.

I myself am gonna take a plate of gruel and a couple beers to my dad and hang out with the old fart and reminise about the good things in our lives. then I will cook a turkey for my dogs and have a 4 day porn-o-thon.

I'm leaving today for Detroit. As a Brit, I don't have any family here in the US, but I do have a lot of Brit friends in the Detroit area who also have no family here.

So, we have a once-a-year pilgrimage to all get together for Thanksgiving. It's always good fun. We've know each other for many years, seen each others children grow up. There will probably be about 50 of us.

It always seems really odd, after living here for so long, to suddenly be in a place surrounded by English accents again!

Watch the parades,have dinner,watch the Lions lose(problably) & then go to Daytona & meet up with my friends at the Turkey Rod Run.

I will be cooking Thanksgiving and the couple that I babysit for will be coming over! And, they will be bringing a traditional Korean dish! Can't wait to try it!

what r they bringing? Bulgogi Mondue? Kim Bop? Kimchi (hot but love it esp with rice and seaweed) am sure you'll love it whatever they bring...........

A co-worker is asking her aunt if I can join them for the turkey feast on Thursday, that is if road conditions are driveable. Then my sister, her b/f & I will have our big family dinner on Sunday after she returns from 4 days of flying/work. Wish the holidays could be spent with my kids & grandbabies in the PNW.

My last day of "prep-work" before the actual show tomorrow. I think I've done it well enough that I'm going to finish with plenty of time. My family loves it when I cook holiday meals, they still get "Grandma's cooking." She's 93 and doesn't cook anymore, but I'm glad I took the time to learn how to do some of her recipes.


It'll be good to see my sisters kids again tomorrow. Can't wait to play games around the table after lunch too. Cards, board game, it doesn't matter. Video games with the younger kids after while The grandparents nap in the early evening. Power lounging after the evening meal of "leftovers." Football all day. I must say, Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.
