Anyone have a Cichlid aqurium have 3 cichlids in mine gonna get 2 more but havent decided what is compatable with the ones I got. Cichlids are cool

I used to have an oscar and I had plans to make a giant tank with blood parrots, flowerhorns, and a few others. However, that costs money I don't currently have.

Jack Dempsy's are cool.
I worked at Petsmart awhile back, and I got to feed all the Cichlid's. We sometimes gave them feeder fish and watched them fight over it. It was crazy. |

Cichlids need a lot of room and they are very agressive. I hope that you are giving them plenty of room and also lots of hiding places, so that they don't get stressed out. |

 Ya I have about 40 rocks in the tank they all have their territoy and homes they dig out their own place and have lots of room.

Good to hear. I know that a lot of people get Cichlids to watch them fight to death. Do you salt your tank?

No my cichlids are from lake Malawi I dont think I'm suposed to salt it am I?

Yes, all fresh water has some salt in it. Unless you have plants (you probably don't since you have Cichlids), you want to put 2 tablespoons of aquarium or Kosher salt / 10 gallons or 1 tablespoon / 5 gallons. Your fish will look better and live longer, while also being less prone to illness.

I know, I would love to see Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika, they are supposed to be two fo the most beatiful lakes on the planet.

I dont know where the lakes are I just know thats were my fish came from.
I'm still doing reaserch on them so I will probley see the lake eventually on the web.

Of course you can't put children in aquariams.
That's what terrariums are for.
