There's plenty of talk about Twilight, and I can understand why. I bought all four books, and have read them all more than once. It is a good old love story with a little twist...Prince Charming just happens to be a Vampire. But there is another series, well many, but the one I'm talking about is By Laurell K Hamilton, the Anita Blake series. LKH has had her series out since the 90's. Her first book got rejected tons of times, not because the publishers didn't think it was a good book, they all said it was amazing, they just didn't know what genre to put it in, Horror? Sci-Fi? Fantasy? They just didn't know.
Has anyone else read this series? If not, you really need to look it up! |

A friend loaned me the first book. It was good but not terrific. Probably because similar others (and I say that loosely) have come out. I told my friend I would borrow his when I have run out of books I'm working through right now. I think to many other authors doing similar types has me somewhat burned out.

Well, LKH kind of started it. I like the fact that theres action and always on the edge of something. There are a lot of Vampire books out, this is true. Anita Blake has vamps, werewolves, wereleopards...the works. |

i've read most of lkh and i do enjoy the anita blake series. i also enjoyed chelsea quinn yarbro's vampire adventures of saint-germain. travels thru time and is heavy on historical events. took me awhile to collect all 20+ in the series as some were hard to find now.
i'm not a twilight fan, as far as vampire novels go. |
