Smaller government is a pipe dream, as the population grows so will government, no offense intended of course. It is a running point used by the pundits and they are lying to us all.

Taxes are needed for all our services in this country and there are a lot of them that are needed. Firefighters, police, roads, sewage, water, etc... Taxes will always be here and they are really not that high. I prefer to pay for these services than do without them.

The power is still in the hands of the people if only they would vote as the founding fathers thought that all Americans would be glad to do. Only about half of eligible voters vote each election.

My observations here of course.

Right wing and Republicans wish for America.

They want to create a nanny state. Telling Americans that they are not adult enough to know things like when they need help, nor what to do with the help when given and make sure they are called lazy and unworthy for needing it. Treating Americans as children who don't know what is best for themselves in their lives all the time.

They want to keep Americans as ignorant as they possibly can so Americans are easier to control. Keeping Americans believing that they are the party of less taxes(only for the rich) and less government spending (only for programs that allow people human rights, all the while spending horrendously for war, corporate welfare), etc...

They want to war with all nations unlike us, convert them to the democracy that we are not and deplete all their sovereign rights and individuality.

They want to make sure all women have no rights to their bodies and what happens to it if the woman gets pregnant.

They want to make sure that the government stays under corporate rule.

They want to make America less American by stomping out individuality and making us more socialist/communist in the conformity of all of us to being white (or white-like), Christian, heterosexual and militant drones.

You said it yourself, you believe that Republicans want minorities to be "white-like". If a black man is a Conservative ("see things the way they do"), he's "white-like". Sure you aren't saying "uncle Tom", but that's what you are implying. You are thinking less of a political opponent because of his or her race.

Yes please inform us what "white-like" is. I like another poster said am registered republican because I am for smaller government and less taxation. They haven't really been doing that a whole lot lately so my support is falling a little more third party.

This whole post seems like an effort to paint the right as evil. It seems to me that none of the views stated there are held by all right wingers, many are distorted versions of the views that are held by some, and many are barely held by a majority.

Righ wingers are a diverse collection of people, with a diversity of beliefs which are not reflected by their most prominent talking heads, nor by the liberal talking heads who create straw men out of the views actually held by the right.

It is true they want to homogenize society to fit what they think it should be. They want death to individuality and self responsibility by creating a nanny state to tell adults what they do and don't need.

I am all for the government financing things like police and fire fighters etc. I don't think the government should be financing our retirement for example. We can finance that ourselves. Healthcare is another thing the government doesn't need to control.
