after my dad past of cancer my son asked what about grandpa's birthday? I said well we probably wont have another party but we will remember him special on that day and be reminded how much he is loved.
Then my son who is nine says "I know! We can wrap up an empty box and it can be a spirit gift!" I was touched to tears--- he said that a few days ago and he is 9 yrs old. |

My daughter is the Queen of "kids say the darndest thing" I kid you not. One occassion, and this is just one of MANY, I had my three kids at a parade. I'm a single mother, so it was just us there, I had no help. My daughter was 5 at the time, and my youngest was just a few months old. I nursed all my kids, so naturally, when they got hungry, I had to hide. Now I always preferred to be alone somewhere with my baby, but in this situation, in the middle of watching a parade, I had no choice but to sit down and hide between these two chairs and covered with a throw blanket. It looked like I was just sitting down and snuggling under the blanket. A marching band had stopped in front of us and the drums were loud when my daughter turned around and yelled above the drums, "Mommy, where's the baby?" I said, "The baby is sleeping dear, watch the drums." In the same volume as before she said, "No he's not! He's eating your boob!" RIGHT as the drums quiet. The two ladies in the chair about fell out of them, and people across the street were looking towards my daughter. The lady to my right reassured me (yeah right) that she had no idea what I was doing and she doubts anyone else would have guessed either. Then I hear someone say a few yards down "Hey! Did you hear what that little girl said? I caught it on my camcorder!"

When my twins were around 5, a friend came over who is asian. David, one of my twins answered the door and said, "mom your ninja friends are here!"
I laughed so hard. Love my boys. At 16 they are still cracking me up. |
