Human rights observers warn that Iran plans to execute a woman whose sentence to stoning has drawn international condemnation.
Contacts inside in Iran say authorities in Tehran have given the go-ahead to prison officials in Tabriz to execute Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, possibly as early as Wednesday, though it's not clear yet by what method, Mina Ahadi of the International Committees Against Execution & Stoning told Fox News. The 43-year-old mother of two had been sentenced to stoning for alleged adultery. The Iranian government also claims Ashtiani had a hand in the murder of her husband. Ahadi and her organization are calling on foreign governments to put pressure on Iran to issue a stay of execution, as they believe that Western governments are now Ashtiani's greatest hope, possibly her only hope. They also are calling on the public to come out Tuesday and protest the latest development in the hope of raising attention and awareness to the case and press for release of Ashtiani, as well as her son and lawyer, who are missing. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2010/11/01/iran-plans-execute-stoning-case-woman/ To bad we have a coward in the White House who caves in to Iran. We should be putting pressure on Iran for the horrendus human rights violations they commit on a daily basis and for taking innocent people and beringing them in on ludacris charges(in cluding innocent Americans and emembers of our allied armed forces in international waters BTW). |

If Im not mistaken I believe you are also a firm believer in the Death Penalty...I think for you its just about using any excuse to belittle and berate your President. |

I never said bomb the whole Muslim world, just the ones that do nothing but Human Rights Violations on a daily basis or harbor terrorists. Actually I am for the Death penalty only if it is for a serious crime like murder, not adultry. |

Actually I never agreed with this type of thing but still do not believe that it is our right to interfere with the laws and judicial systems of another governmental body........I do agree with the death penalty in the cases of serial killer and murderer would like to add child molesters to that list for the irreperable harm and damage or at the very least not eligible for parole ever........even though I do not believe it is correct to kill someone for petty crimes....but if she was involved in the planning and implemetation of her husbands death......and she was in the US and sentenced to death I think you are correct that no one would be calling for human rights in this issue.......if that is her penalty by there laws for adulterous murder then so be it...............not our right to tell other how to write and implement their laws |

People like me? You have no clue about me obviously. We had NO diplomatic ties with the Taliban and only two countries even recognized their rule in Afganistan, and we wern't one of them. Hell, the UN wouldn't even recognize them. I have always despised the Taliban and groups and countries like them. They are mid evil and we should be no part of any of it or be allied with any countries with laws that ok human rights violations like that. |

I think we have a right to be fearful, we were blindsided with a sucker punch on a non military target when we were not at war. Here's a hint we didn't start that war. Oh and if you wanna through Iraq in there go for it, but we were justified the day Saddam and his top people were found guilty of human rights violations and crimes against humanit by a jury of Iraqui's. If it wern't for America saving everyones azz every time the world would be a darker place. BTW who is the first country the world looks to when $hit hits the fan? The USA. |
