The troops operated under the command of an unnamed US major, who had been involved in the rape of an Iraqi female, showed one such document posted on the whistleblower website WikiLeaks.

The incident took place after the victim, the brother of the raped female, reportedly killed a military official in reprisal for the indecent assault.

To enable the May incident in the city of Haditha of the western Iraq province of Al Anbar, the major said he was undertaking the transfer of two prisoners, including the victim.

WikiLeaks has released around 400,000 documents on the 2003-present US-led invasion of Iraq. The founder of the website, Julian Assange, has hailed the disclosure as one "about the truth" behind the war.

The site has also exposed documents on the similar US-led war in Afghanistan and is expected to disclose additional related details.

I believe one has to be in shallow end of the intellectual pool to believe anything from a source that begins with "wiki"! And and eye for an eye is something terrorists understand anyway so I don't see a problem if they did cut someones head off, if these people over there attracted the attention of our military then that means they were up to no good.

if any of this did happen, they should prosecute the rape part, or at least look into it if the guy that did it is dead.... but the whole thing sounds like a lefty plot to discredit our soldiers

Trust me on this google untill your fingers bleed all you will find on the wiki leaks is that the government wishes they never got leaked and are seeking to prosecute the leakers. Wikileaks was the media the leaker chose to use being that they have a reputation for getting the facts out. A mainstream media would have probably burried the stuff for national security reasons.

did you ever think maybe people in the government use that to their advantage? there is a reason it was never shut down... and obama has an internet kill switch...i just think there might some truth to it, but more than likely someone in the government made it up just to make republicans look bad before the elections...
