      40 years ago they were put on the endangered species list. They were just taken off that list with 5000 breeding pairs.

      have seen a few up in the foothills where I used to live. Always made me feel wonderful and blessed to have the honor of being able to see one in real life, ( and not in some zoo)

      Have baldies living within a mile & have counted over 110 around the lake during spring migration.

      I am so glad to hear the bald eagle is no longer endangered.  It helps renew my strength that man CAN do something right after all.

      We used to see one here and there./ It would make the news at times. Then one came up shot with an arrow in the wing. They took it and rehabilitated it, then let it go. I see them more often noe. They are so beautiful. There is something about them that is peaceful. I love birds of all kinds anyway. Must be the Cherokee in me. I save feathers??
