hmmmmmmmmm....don't know Red.....could be something you are eating....could be what you are watching or reading.....hope you figure it out. I used to have nightmares and decided it was from all of the detective mags I was reading....put them away and the nightmares stopped.

Nightmares are usually past fears coming back to haunt one. Ghosts would be past people coming back to haunt you. Sounds like unfinished business needing attending to?

Dreams occur during that part of sleep when there are rapid eye movements (REMs). We have 3 to 5 periods of REM sleep per night. They usually come at intervals of 1-2 hours and are quite variable in length. An episode of REM sleep may be brief and last but 5 minutes. Or it may be much longer and go for over an hour.

The content of dreams is sometimes the topic of psychoanalysis. While this method of therapy is less common than it once was, some doctors still look at dreams as a diagnostic clue to medical disorders. For example, children with bipolar disorders have been found to frequently have a particular type of nightmares, and especially lucid dreams are a side-effect of certain medications.

[These clues indicate that chemicals in the brain, as well as life events and our own preoccupations, influence our dreams].

i've had similar re-occuring dreams.1 where i ended up in a room full of ghosts and no matter how hard i tried,i could not escape and if i yelled,no noise came out

another one i had was i would be in the house my grandmother died in and i would be talking to her ghost

Im thinking it may be because of the move, Im in a new place with no one around. Im not sure what I wish it would just stop. Its scary to be half awake an not be able to move.

There is a part of the REM stage of sleep that will literally paralyze the body. It happens when our minds wake up before our bodies wake up. I'm sure the move that you made recently is attributing to some of this.

When I had this sort of thing happen to me, I simply prayed about it and that set my mind at ease enough to be able to sleep (normally) through the night again.

Good luck to you.

I used to be sleep deprived for months at a time with bad nightmares that I couldn't wake up from.

I didn't know it was possible to actually be paralyzed. That's exactly how I felt though.

I still have bad nightmares from time to time, but I stopped watching horror movies for a while. That seemed to help. I just can't stop watching my crime shows.
