Hi, just arrived here. After I completed my profile I was asked for my cell phone number. The request seemed like an official mingle2 request since it was in big letters on the middle of the page. I assumed it was so this site could verify me and I assumed it was a security feature to prevent people from making 349835640948586350489634 profiles. However, after getting a couple of advertisement type text messages I am now afraid I did not read close enough and I signed up for some spam site.
Did I just get duped? Was that request needed for me to sign up here? Can I get that spam company to leave me alone or are they going to text the heck out of my phone? Thanks test of edit feature to add a p.s. p.s. Why do not the pictures on peoples profiles enlarge when you click them? The men are so tiny. |

Hi cutiepie_O_my, I had to check with Charles on this one. There is a co-registration offer, during the sign up process. Near the end of that, there is a "no thanks" button. If you are getting texts from them, reply with "stop" and you should be removed from their list. If not, let us know. Welcome aboard! |

The men are so tiny. i think that you got into a spam site without knowing it for i have never recall mingle asking for your phone number(strange) unless thats knew but i dont think so you might want to find out who that spam site was. and also contact your cell phone provider if you dont have free texting. as i belive they can block numbers that you dont want to come in |

I have been on a few non dating forums in the past and it is not unusual for some sites to ask for a phone verify in order to keep forum trolls from making a zillion profiles. This is why I did not think twice about entering my cell number. I guess I need to be more careful in the future. Charles? (edited because it is late and I make errors when it is late) |
