I would say horror is my favorite genre. I'm a huge fan of all types- the silent era, the Universal monster movies and Jacques Tourneur films(Cat People, I Walked With A Zombie, etc) of the 30's and 40's. The Hammer and AIP films of the 50's and 60's. Love Italian horror from the 60's through 80's(cannibals, zombies, Giallo). Love the exploitation/grindhouse/drive-in flicks from the late 60's through early 80's. Slasher flicks, creature features, Nature Gone Bad(JAWS to Long Weekend). Asian horror.

I love cheese/schlock/b-grade and some Z-grade, everything from Herschell Gordon Lewis to Troma Studios to Frank Henenlotter(Basketcase) to William Castle...Horror comedies, so bad it's good horror flicks(like Attack Of The Beast Creatures, and The Video Dead)

Some of my favorite directors- George Romero, Bava(father and son), Argento, Fulci, Franco, Carpenter(except for a few of his stinkers), Lloyd Kaufman, William Lustig, Terrence Fisher, Takashi Miike...

The newer directors I keep an eye out for- Brad Anderson, Ti West, JT Petty, Lucky McKee, Larry Fessenden, Adam Green...

Some of my favorite horror of the 00's- House Of The Devil, Trick R Treat, The Cottage, The Burrowers, Let The Right One In, Dead Snow, REC, Ginger Snaps, Bubba Ho-Tep, Session 9, Tale Of Two Sisters, The Orphanage, The Devil's Backbone, Dead Birds, Pontypool(Moe loves it), May, Dawn Of The Dead(original is still tops), Shaun Of The Dead, Drag Me To Hell, Hills Have Eyes(though I prefer the original), The Mist, Martyrs, Inside 2007....

One Horror movie I really enjoyed was Freddy vs. Jason... it was epic
But the new nightmare on elm st that came out this year. It sucked. I mean, yeah it pretty much told you how Freddy became who he is, but that's about it.
But there's nothing like watching two forces of evil battling each other (Freddy VS. Jason)

Freddy vs Jason was better than I thought it would be, it was a lot of fun. I wish they would make Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash into a movie...

Did you read the Marvel Zombie comic book story line? They have one that's Marvel Zombies vs. (Ash from) Evil Dead.

Yeah, it's pretty cool. That's why I'm hoping they do it, but they probably won't. There's rumors, but there's also rumors with Michael Myers being involved. Who knows?

They should also make a movie with Wolverine as a skeleton.

Word.

I know it's not really horror but I'm really looking forward to seeing Ryan Reynolds act as the Green Lantern and then Deadpool. Two big damn super-powered names. Plus, he's in a movie called "Buried" which looks like it will either be amazing or a huge letdown. Personally, I think it looks pretty cool.

I think he'll be good in both of those, and Buried does look good.

Chris Evans though I'm not to sure on as Capt America.

Whoops...to keep on topic, I'm looking forward to both the remakes of Mother's Day, and I Spit On Your Grave(the revenge scenes are supposed to be more intense than the original)

And...and....Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is supposed to be getting made into a movie!!!!

But X men origins: Wolverine was definitely something worth watching. Although I'm not sure if I would call that horror.
I mean, yes it is science fiction but I don't see anything horrifying or terrifying about it.
