Taking a pause from my reality in hopes of finding you home
needing the warmth of your soul

Embrace all that you cannot see.
Relish all thats true, held deep inside.
Remember everything you have loved or loved you.
Happiness, is that place now, left to heal.

Suddenly
I find my joys shuttered
behind the dance
of a firefly
snatched into a paper cup;
a stranger I feed on
through the palm of the hand
I hold over the brim
lest it spill out
and leave me to my
desolation

This day, it looked
too much like an image
you invoke inside me,
just by saying those words,
coursing through
and behind my own
reticence,
revealing a world
I have never
lived
until your visions
refused me the choice
of my own

These are
my little deaths, such
instants as these;
moments
of clarity and passion,
of lost chances,
these snippets you
strew – indecisions
you have always
called them – searing
through my Now,
putting all I have been
to the question.

You reduce me to
this – sorry poetry -
even as I
finally let go
of dream and paper cup,
helpless spectator
to the enlightened
shining forth and
flying free, now
and forever,
like they’ve always been,
unbeholden
to my senses.

Unfulfilled,
and long after I had
thought
I had learned to stop
believing, I leech
the darkness
for insights halfway
forgotten; they
might still
loose me
from wanting your
prison.

But just as suddenly,
like it had always
been, I know
myself for the firefly,
and you the hand
stealing
light.

I've come to understand that the brilliance of this Firefly
The light shine's within our souls......

and when, (we) are ready (her) light shine's our way

your words lifted me,, your thoughts carried me to search
within myself.. I have learned, I have seen

the pain will ease... (I know this from experience) and you shall
see the Firefly.
