My thinking is the opposite. I used to be in the U.S. Navy, and during my time in the service I met plenty of guys who looked for girlfriends who would serve them as free protitutes who did housework. I do not think like that, but there are men who do think like that. I know so because I spent plenty of time talking to such men while I was in the military. If a woman wants a sexual relationship without marriage, then so be it. I don't care one way or the other. Just keep in mind that men and women do not think alike. Sometimes when a man has entered a sexual relationship with a woman, he has accomplished his goal, and he isn't necessarily motivated to give the woman anything else that she may desire. I am the opposite of such a man, which was the point of my last post. I keep reading statements which claim that men are primarily motivated by a desire for sex. Such a claim is not true in regards to me. |

Yes, Virginia, there are men who want nothing more than to use women to fulfill the men's self-centered desires. I have talked to plenty of such men who are that way. I do not look at women as being objects to be used, and I am opposed to men treating women as sex toys. If a woman wants to have sex, then so be it, as long as she is not allowing herself to be mistreated by her sex partner. |

It isn't about what men or women want..... it's about what you personally want! Figure out exactly what you want for yourself, your children, your well-being, etc. Then live your life! And if someone comes around that you can communication with and problem-solve with that wants similar things in life, great! If not, be true to yourself and do not compromise! I want a 5 dolla foot long from subway, does that count? : / ha honestly every man is going to want something different but like many said earlier be yourself don't let anyone change who you are. Relationships are based on common interestes and attractions etc... honestly you would be better off looking for someone that has the most in common with yourself, the real question is what do you look for in a guy? I'm sure something long the lines, funny, smart, sexy blah blah blah so maybe a man might be looking for the samething in a woman... just something to think about! Good Luck! |

Im 42 and a widow for 13 yrs now, am ready to start dating again as well. And believe me, I have no idea where to begin either. just be yourself, if a man your talking to doesnt like it then oh well, he is not the one or even on the list. its pretty much that simple. i mean a guy doesnt want you to try to be anything else except yourself. a guy will like you for who you are and not for who you are not. women dont like when guys lie so why lie to get with a guy? just like in life, we fall just to get back up, same thing with men or woman. we all take chances and some fail, oh well.
