The cost of extending the tax cuts for everyone for the next 10 years would approach $4 trillion, according to congressional estimates. Eliminating the breaks for the top earners would reduce that bill by about $700 billion.

I find that statement from the original post interesting. This is the amount of money taken from citizens over the course of ten years, but only the small fraction that was/is the tax cuts. It is ridiculous that the government needs that much money to operate. Cut government programs, leave these tax cuts in place, and cut taxes some more. Instead of spending trillions trying to micro-manage and control every aspect of everything in this country, the government needs to go back to the basics for which it was designed.

First off he didn't say he supported a "tax cut", he was agreeing with the president on letting the already expiring tax cuts expire...except for people making over $250,000.00 a year.

Second, I am stunned he's for this...since the GOP obstruct anything the president does...even when they have to obstruct THEIR OWN POLICIES.

He'll pay a price for that move...unfortunately.

He has already back-pedaled from his statement. Rep Boehner has clarified his comment that he wants the tax cuts for everyone to be extended....even the wealthy.

The thing that amazes me is that it seems all the republicans want to continue the tax cuts for the wealthy. And now I believe the FOX polls show that a majority of Americans want it extended to the wealthy also.

People have been brain washed by FOX.

I believe it should be extended for the middle class but not the wealthy.

It seems that anything the President does, the republicans bi!tch about how it will add to the deficit. But when it is pointed out that by extending the cuts to the wealthy, it adds to the deficit some $700 billion, they don't want to have that conversation.

All they want to do is torpedo anything this administration proposes.

The problem is not America being "under taxed". The problem is over spending.

At this rate soon, all of the US tax income will be needed to pay the interest on the national debt.

Sure, spending is always a problem. Arizona is about to receive millions in federal funds.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan announced Monday that Arizona will receive nearly $212 million aimed at keeping thousands of teachers in the classroom this school year.

All you hear about the conservative state of Arizona and Jan Brewer is SB 1070. Seems like our conservative State Government bi!tches about spending but holds their hand out when the Feds show them $$.

All the States are guilty of this. They complain about it but want their fair share of the $$.
