Report: 85 inmates escape from prison in Mexico

(CNN) -- A massive manhunt is under way in northern Mexico as authorities search for 85 inmates who escaped from a prison in the border city of Reynosa, state media reported.

Two prison guards are missing, and 44 were detained under suspicion of corruption, Notimex said.

Garza Garcia said the detention facility in Reynosa was design to hold 400 inmates but is currently housing about 1,700 prisoners, according to state media.

But that is just part of the overall story…you’d think that when you put all the pieces of the puzzle together then there’d be a clear picture…not so in America. The politicians are too busy appeasing the RW Religious extremists who oppose drug policy reforms. The politicians are also taking big money from Big Prison’s lobbyists.(d)

~~~
Economically Mexico is suffering from it's worst recession in a hundred years(a) and it seems like the big employment opportunity is in the drug trade...or the prison/military trade. Many who cannot find jobs move or sell drugs. Some are recruited from South America as well. Recall the recent mass killings? All that and America's thirst for illegal drugs is helping cause all this. Along with that grows the corruptions…”44 were detained under suspicion of corruption”.
Drugs are bad but the drug war is worse.
Don't care? That's them people right? Well guess what? At the current rates of incarceration in the US, by the year 2050 up to HALF of all Americans will be in a jail or prison(b)(c)...I guess the other half will be guarding them. Big Prison (Corporation) is big business in America.
The drug war has been lost since it’s inception and all we are doing is fueling crime in Mexico and filling up prisons in both countries.
I'll bet they did'nt 'escape'. I'll bet they were let go under the threat of the drug cartels.
Everything is a lie in mexico. Their govt., their police, their population...everything.
The drug war could very easily be won if true Americans were allowed to hunt down and kill drug dealers and other scumbags.
