Just saw midnight showing. It's WAY too short, but it was good. The 3D thing gives me a headache but it looked kinda cool.

Glad to see that Paul WS Anderson came back to direct this one. And, I do love me some Milla.

The only good zombie... well, they're already dead. I guess the best zombie is one with cake, then.
RE movies make me sad. |

I like the games, not so much the movies. At one time George Romero was going to direct the original movie- now that I would have liked to seen.

I honestly feel that Anderson had the right idea in his vision for the RE films. If you watch the first one, it starts off fast and really has you into it. Then, in one scene, they kill half the soldiers and the movie went to being just ok.
Russell Mulchahy, director of RE: Extinction, did the best job so far. And, compared to other video games turned into movies, the RE films are pretty good. |

The RE movies "have a lot going for them", in my opinion... but that's really the nice way of saying I feel they fail miserably.
The games were all about pacing and the idea of survival, and the movie descends into Milla Jovovich being a super-heroine slowly trudging through uninspired story arcs towards an ultimately dull "boss fight" which is disengaging and pointless. That being said, I'd pay ticket fare for a full length movie of Milla Jovovich just sitting on a couch playing a Resident Evil game. In fact, I might rather see that. Silent Hill has been better than any of the Resident Evil movies... and I thought that Silent Hill was a big let down as well. |

I take the films for what they are. They are their own thing, and not really associated with the video game franchise. I guess since I don't have an issue with seperating the two is the reason why I don't hate the films (like most lovers of the games do).
Silent Hill was a film I had high hopes for. And it had its' moments to where I thought it was gonna be good. But it just never lived up to what I expected from it. Still, seeing Pyramid Head on the big screen did make me smile. |

I dunno, I love zombie flicks but this looks like they turned it into the Matrix

You have to separate the movies from the games. Nothing can compare to the games, but i still enjoy the movies. And Milla is the best actress ever

Genetic zombies aren't scary.
Romero zombies are scary. "Rage virus" zombies are scary. Krueger on steroids is kinda funny. Milla Jovocich is beautiful. Every RE movie is better than the Street Fighter movie. |
