The 10th of what? And why, is specail happening?
November it is my birthday

I had one of those earlier this week, Monday actually, but they don't mean a lot. They will mean more in 10 years I suspect! Maybe the thrill of catching another onebiggrin Or perhaps, sneaking past the pitchfork

Hi Ray and Timflowerforyou flowerforyou
Life is good. Just got back from shopping and having supper.
Miserable day here though cold and rainy.
We have similar weather here, though your ground is likely to be less mobilelaugh
laugh is it ever going to stop?

Well Tim, I'm over it. I will be happy to report that we haven't had a shake for awhile, when the time comes

by the link you posted you have had a few in the past couple days, maybe your just to far north to feel them or there that mild

As I Posted earlier Tim, about 80% of the locals just ignore or don't notice the shakes under 4 on the oh shirt scale. I am 1 of that number. The other 20% are in resthomes and have others to worry for them.

since I have never felt a quake I didn't know at what point they get bad

You may count yourself very lucky Tim! The first few are a surprise, but they get old fairly quick. When there is a shake over 4, believe it, you take notice! While it don't seem so, 4.2 will wake you up, 4.6 will drop biuldings! The intensity climbs very steeply, and a couple of percentage points can & does make a huge difference.

OK, when a shake takes place at say,30kilometers, and at 4 on the scale, you will know it. The same shake @ 4-5kilometers, will really rip your nighty! These distances are the depth at which the shake was centred. I assume you know what causes an earthquake, and the force of the movement"comes to a head" at a point where there is a weakness in a faultline. Hence the difference in distances below the surface. A shallow quake causes more trouble because its energy hasn't gone far before it surfaces. I personally would not care to be anywhere near a quake that was centred near the surface, regardless of its size!scared scared 'twould be a shocker!

Never heard of anyone losing their teeth, although the first shake was about 4.30am, so I imagine there was a chance some teeth went tatas, Mine stayed very still
