Actually this is how many religious people feel. If they truly believed that there was no God they'd have no moral values at all.

Isn't that truly sad.

I've always said that an atheist who has high moral values would surely be a sparkling gem in the eyes of God. Why? Because here you have a person who doesn't even believe in God, yet he or she has higher moral values on their own!

Religious people who only comply to God's moral values out of fear of punishment or lust for a gift of eternal life truly have no moral values at all, they are simply trying to avoid God's Wrath and win some sort of prize for "good behavior".

So a atheist who has high moral values truly outshines the religious hypocrites. They have high moral simply because it's WHO THEY ARE, not because they lust for eternal life, or want to avoid someone's wrath.

That has to be the ULTIMATELY RIGHTEOUS human being.

Yet, those hateful bigoted religious people would have God cast those highly moral atheists into hell simply because they didn't believe in God.

It's truly hard to believe that anyone can even fall for such a religion to be quite honest about it. Such a God would have no moral values himself.

History doesn't bear this out. Some of the worst atrocities in human history happened when the people who committed them claimed they were doing god's bidding.
