OK, before I get to far into this, I know we say things different in NZ. When NZ went through the change(that don't sound good!) to metrics in 1973-4 I was in the midst of an apprenticeship as a timber machinist. I had to become bi-lingual, because the older builders couldn't adjust overnight from calling frame-ing timber, 4x2 to 100x50. Another problem for some was understanding that an 8ft., stud was suddenly 2.4metres. Changing from pounds shillings & pence, to $ & cents was simple. Tis only a matter of time, and you to will have the joys of conversion.

OK Ray what do you think of -28C and that's with out the wind chill Is that 80 below Tim? We got that cold ya know...burrrrrrrrr!!!! That's with wind chill though. January 1984 to be exact. I remember because Bernie was in Alaska doing a month long guard duty and it was so warm there that they wore their fatigues and we were frozen in. |
