Does anyone, ANYONE AT ALL. know how to maik e a program, let's say, castle of the winds or doom 2. run on windows? And if you say right click and run trobuleshooting options, i will find you,gut you in your sleep and eat your children. because that does not work, nor does the darn windows 7 compatiblity center. I know, I've used it and went thropugh ALL the process 47 times. does not work.

If your windows 7 install is running in 64 bit mode then you are going to have issues. The software you are trying to run is all 32 bit.

There are ways to force your computer to run the program in 32 bit mode. Once you "dumb down" your computer to 32 bit the compatibility issue should clear up.

That is something Microsoft was not forthcoming about was that 32 bit software does not function well if at all on a 64 bit machine.

There is software that will make your computer operate as a 32 bit machine for using 32 bit software but those are called "emulator" programs like DOS Box was for Windows XP for those classic DOS games like Duke Nukem 1, 2 and 3.

At least this is my educated guess becasue I recently installed Windows 7 on a computer and it was a 64 bit installation.

I know of this issue thanks to Windows XP 64X. Compatibility hell!grumble

DOS Box is for XP, not Win 7.

Look on the Microsoft web site for "Windows XP Mode" for Windows 7. That should fix things right up. Follow installation instructions.

I think you can get it directly from this link...

you prick, I thought that you were one of the good guys. but nooooo.. you had to send me to a pay-site. You dirty rotten bastard.

I said that I am not going to give microsoft 14.95 for the awsner for the question I asked JUST SO THEY CAN SEND ME BACK INTO A LOOP AND TELL WHAT TO DO THAT DOES NOT WORK ANYWAY!!.

SO WHY THE HELL WOULD I GIVE THEM $200 FOR THE SAME DARN THING?

Now i don't know if you are trying to F with me, or just trying to be a good guy. But either way, please dont send me to a paysite, I already bought that crap, and in no way did it help me. Which is why I am here.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY EMULATORS FOR WINDOWS 7?

side note, ever hear of those maniaics that run into a building and mercyiselly kill 307 people for no reason? This is why. Beecause people like screwing each other.

I checked the link and posted that what I had was a bogus link and I apologize for that but I did post a bogus link alert.

Try looking up Windows XP Mode in your "Help" on your computer and also look it up on the Microsoft web site.

I ain't trying to screw with anyone. Even I get jinxed links now and then.

I try to find free solutions to problems, not extortionware.

XP Mode might just be a setting too that I am not aware of. That is why they have a 'F1' Help. Sometimes the question isn't too clear when you don't know what to look for.

I had a chance to look it up a little more and it appears to be a setting. Without a Windows 7 machine in front of me I can't really help past leading you in the right direction hopefully.

Oh well then, i am sorry for what I said, really I am. I kept asking all those other windows 7 "specitalits" and none of them told me anythinf helpful and they only pointed me to paysites. I thought that you were going to do that too. Well, your info was helpful, but it dos'ent exactly work for windows 7 and the whole "settings thing is just a ruse. It dos'ent work, at least for my computer. My advice is to never buy a windows 7, unless you want a genuine paperweight. Go for an Xp. I had one before I threw it out. " I thought that Windows 7 was better" And I gotta say, it never let me down.

agian, sorry pal.
