I started watching it when I was in the hospital last week, they had a marathon and nothing else was on. Kat von D and Corey are amazing artists and i've decided that one of them will do my next tattoo. I am sure they arn't to cheap either.

I found you can also apply to get the tattoo done on the show and I believe you don't have to pay for it then, im thinking of doing that even though it's a major long shot.....

I already have one tatt and it hurt like a %itch. I want atleast two more that i've already got the ideas for.

Has anyone here actually seen any of their work first hand or been in the shop? I know we have a few members from LA, hoping maybe they would have some insight.

Kat also has an Art studio in LA where she displays her artwork and has several books of her artwork she has published. I can get you a couple links to her work and pages online.

Corey Miller also has had Art exibits and I believe even opened a studio.

Nope, he got a tatt done at her shop. She has been with Nikki Sixx of Motley Crew since 2007 until they broke up last week.

He was nailing the tattooed model.

If your going to try and get on that show you'd probably need a pretty intricate tattoo, and a good story to go along with it. If you can get it from them for free....I see no reason in applying to be on the show. I personally wouldnt pay their prices, although i dont know what they are....I'm sure its not cheap by any means. Besides...ive found a good artist and I will stick with him for now.

The shop minimum is $200.00, which isn't to bad. Kat and corey and a couple of the top artists in the world. If I am going to have something that will last the rest of my life, I want someone who is the best to do it.

I agree with you 100%. I'm not saying you souldnt pay that, they are well worth the money you will spend on your tattoo. And if its Kat, you can tell everyone she made you bleed, lol.

Do they charge by the hour or by the tattoo? I know the artist I go to charges by the hour. And while he isnt a Kat Vond or Corey...I have placed in several different competitions with my work done by him.

That's like paying more for something just because you want to get it from some where trendy. I have an AMAZING artist and I found her by doing the research myself. Every artist has a different style and specialty. You should pick an artist based on your likes, not just pick one who is popular.

It's not because they are popular but because they in my opinion are the best, especially for what I want.

The person who did my first one really screwed it up and I don't want a repeat.

They charge by the piece. Not to mention she is gorgeous.

There are some really amazing artists out there. They are just on TV.

I know, but i've looked through their extensive albums online and I really like what I have seen.

I'm not a big fan of H&H or their work. Hell Corey Hart I don't even think has passed his apprenticeship yet.

Also, in my opinion they would only put some of the best artists on tv, so that's another reason for my motivation.

I know there are a lot of great artists out there, i've seen your pictures and the person who does your tatts from what I can see of the tatts I think is a damn good artist too, he\she could be featured on that show.

Unfortunately out of all the shops we have here locally there is only one shop that has an artist I think is decent but they have been hit with both an HIV and Hepatitus lawsuit in the recent past. So that's an automatic disqualification in my book.

Dan Smith also looks like a damn good artist too.

He's also supposed to be a great musician too. It's amazing how talented these guys are. Not only are they amazing tattoo artists. They are also actual artists and are all musicians.

Kat Von D is supposed to be amazing on the piano, she plays classical and loves Beethoven, even has a tattoo of him. She also plays guitar. She also is a semi professional Skateboarder. Corey also plays a couple instruments and even designed his own line of drum sets for Ludwig Drums.

I am just amazed and envious on how talented these people are. I wish I had just a little bit of that talent.

I think they put the ones on TV that are good artist and good in front of the camera. They could be an exceptional artist....but if they had no persaonality, it wouldnt make good TV, so they wouldnt have them there.
