Obviously it didn't work so well. We need to shake that old non working stuff and bring in the new state. Religious free would be a great start for me

Obviously it didn't work so well. We need to shake that old non working stuff and bring in the new state. Religious free would be a great start for me It worked really well until the Liberals started getting really rabbid in the 60's-70's

Religion just gets in the way most of the time. I really have no problem with those who are religious, but don't preach to me and don't try to make me believe the same way. Unfortunately, many of those who are religious cannot keep from doing that.

Unfortunately, many of those who are religious cannot keep from doing that. Well put mam. That is nice to read. I've been saying for a while that it isn't the religion we are fighting, it is the people who use it as a means of killing that we are fighting. Christians were guilty of that, just a thousands years ago. And who really knows for sure what happened, REALLY. One side has one story, and the other a different one, and no living witnesses. Case in point, these people are a thousand years behind us in living standard, just they have bombs and guns now. I do not wish to rid the world of any one race or creed, just the people who use them as a means to generate attacks on people who were in a state of peace.. Muslim AND Christian alike. If a Christian group from Russia or something did it, I'd be looking to them just the same. The difference is the middle east has been at war as far as our history books go back. When we fight a war, and I mean DEPLOY the troops, We do it to fight oppression, help an ally, or gain independence. We don't high jack a plane and direct our attack at non military personnel.

Too many people use religion as an excuse for just about anything. It's an excuse for why they did or didn't do something, why they're mad at someone, why they hate entire groups of people, why they harmed or killed someone and so on. That's when I have a problem with religion. It causes people to think they don't have to take responsibility for things. Not everyone is like that, of course. Those who are not I have absolutely no problem with.
