Hamburg Mosque Linked to Sept. 11 Hijackers Closed by Security Officials
German security officials raided and closed a Hamburg mosque where some of the al-Qaeda hijackers who carried out the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks met, saying it’s breeding Islamic extremists to fight in Afghanistan. “We closed the Taiba mosque today because young men are being turned into religious fanatics there,” Christoph Althaus, the city-state’s top security official, said in a statement. The group running the mosque used it to “propagate ‘holy war.’” Photos in the Hamburger Abendblatt newspaper showed police entering and carrying computers from the mosque, located six blocks from the main train station in Germany’s second-largest city and previously known as al-Quds. Three of the Sept. 11 suicide pilots, including lead hijacker Mohamed Atta, frequented al-Quds, along with plotters of the attacks on New York and Washington. Both Germany AND France right now are asking serious questions about allowing Islamic freedom to be unchecked in their countries. Both are having to deal with the problems associated with Islamic in their nations refusing to accept tolerance and also accepting their culture and way of life. France especially is really cracking down on the BS associated with this faith practice. Remember the riots France had with illegal Islamic Immigrants? They spit on the culture that allows them to have the liberties they get to enjoy. Islam is a religion that bites the hand that feeds it! Well..it's usually up for the leaders and the people to agree what is acceptable what isn't. Europe has a good understanding of what Islam is, and Germany and France (and UK) both share plenty of Islamic immigrants. Let's say, Europe is experienced, when it comes to Islam. United States isn't. Neither the people in it. And to make it worse, there is a serious disconnect between Americans and the government. Last time I checked, both the president and the Congress were getting ultra-low approvals for the job they are doing, regardless what they do. It's not true in European countries...while the government approval isn't the best, but I would have to say the German government is approved by most Germans, same in France. |
