tell her it's like candy, take a taste, and say mmmmmmm

then give her the spoon dropper, and let her know she's a big girl and
can take it on her own...just like mom does

ellgee1976,

I think it's a bad idea to tell her it's candy. As sweet as some
medicines are today, it might taste like candy to her. If she got the
bottle open on her own, it could be disasterous.

I agree with Spider. Telling a child medicine is candy could be fatle if
they ever got the bottle open. Cause then they would not no the
difference,

um....i don't mean to contradict, but i wouldn't really recommend
saying it tastes like candy, i ate the whole bottle of St.Joesephs Baby
Aspirin for children , remember the little orange pills and they tasted
like orange coolaid???...yea nad i had to get my stomach pumped...i was
2

i'm 53 now and i remember it like yesterday, lol
soooooooooooo...... sitting by with a cool compress and keeping her
hydrated will be fine.
fevers burn away the virus and are a good thing as long as theyt don't
get too high for too long.
another thing to remember is children can run a temp higher than adults
with less conflict. so 101 is not alarming yet ,
but should not be allowed to hold longer than 2 or 3 hours, then
compresses and tea and coloring books and you.... you'll be fine.

Many 2 year olds you have to force to take medicine. Hold her/him, squirt the medicine in the cheek and then blow in their face so they swallow. May be a slow process but it should work.
Good luck

Well my son did too because I always got him bubble gum, cherry or grape flavoured tylenol.

Hide in a flavored applesauce or apple juice. Or see if they will take it from someone else. D would not take meds from me for the longest, but would from others. He is a stinker.

Or in desparation, sit on them and get it in. Bubble gum flavored advil is pretty good, too.

Good luck. Let us know how the little one is doing.

Hugs, M
