Topic: Pop-Up Ads and my Blocker. HELP! | |
---|---|
When my Pop-Up Blocker blocks Pop-Up ads here, I have to close out the window and open Mingle2 in another window.
It's been happening for a while now. I just been too lazy to ask about it. Is it on my end or what? |

It just did it again.
That's what reminded me to check for solutions. |

Hey willing,
I'm not sure what is going on. Perhaps if you provide more information like what browser you use, etc. Not sure if this will help, but it might help trouble shoot it a bit. Kim |

As yellowrose10 mentions, we'll need to know some of your system's details (operating system and browser specifics) in order for us to investigate. Please email that informtaion to me, along with a detailed description of the issue. Thanks, guys.

I suppose making it so pop-ups don't come three at a time is out of the question?

Please email that informtaion to me, along with a detailed description of the issue. Thanks, guys. Well geeze, Mr Charles. I would have hoped for sweet talk, flowers and maybe dinner before revealing intimate details! I have windows xp and use firefox. The pop-up blocker shows it blocked a pop-up at the top of the screen. I tried clicking the x, options and just ignoring it and the program won't allow me to execute any other command. Anything else? I's kinda' dummy with compooters. |

Any "script error" messages? I'm running firefox 3.6.8 and windows xp. I cannot duplicate the problem. This leads me to believe, there may be some type of malware on your machine. Have you tried a complete system scan?

I ran the scan and no malware.

Might have accidentally fixed it.
Under options it says,"Don't show me the pop-up was blocked." I chose that option. Just a couple minutes ago, I saw the window glitch. No pop-up and it obeys my commands. We all get along better when that happens. Yeah, I know. |

I spoke too soon.
It's doing it still. The window freezing. It didn't do it before pop-up ads. Maybe Ms Gossipmpm can add intimate details I don't know about. |

That's a shame to hear, willing2. We've been working with the company that provides the ads in an attempt to duplicate the problem. I don't have any news at this point, but we'll keep at it. If we need anymore information, we'll certainly ask.
As for the iTouch and other phones, we're not really in a position to torubleshoot that area right now. If it gets to the point where we support phones, then we will reconsider, of course. |

It happens about three times in a day.
It was just a pain in da' rear. I reckon I can live with it. Thanks anywho! |

Might i suggest "options">"content" On the pop up blocker option, click exceptions, add The mingle2 address. (copy and paste that) And select ok. You will still receive pop ups, but you should be able to close them out. One thing you can try, is turning off the pop up blocker, reboot and turn it back on. Sometimes, registry files get confused, you might also want to run disk cleanup and possibly defrag. If you haven't done so, you should clear cache and cookies. That will eliminate a large percentage of possible causes. I have (as i suggested earlier) a sneaking suspicion, that you may have malware, or some corrupt files, probably in cookies. |
