People Eating Tasty Animals new Look Screams 'Bloody Murder'

(July 28) -- Animal rights activists say meat is murder -- bloody, bloody murder.

Demonstrators from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) recently stripped down in New York City's Times Square, wrapped themselves up in cellophane and doused themselves with fake blood so they looked like meat on sale at a supermarket.

They say they put on the July 27 stunt to help meat eaters realize that buying a steak from a grocery store is no different from buying a corpse.

Wait, What?

Fresh human meat for sale! Animal rights activists say meat is murder -- and buying a steak is no different from buying a corpse. So they covered themselves in fake blood and wrapped themselves in plastic like meat sold at supermarkets for a New York City protest on July 27.

Wait, What?

"We are challenging people to really think about what 'meat' is," said PETA spokeswoman Ashley Byrne in a statement. "When you eat flesh, you're eating the corpse of an abused animal who did not want to die. We're encouraging kind consumers to try going vegan."

Animal rights activists covered themselves in fake blood and wrapped themselves in plastic like meat sold at supermarkets for a July 27 protest in New York City. The demonstration was intended to discourage shoppers from buying animal products.
In a promotion for their GoVeg.com website, the nearly nude demonstrators sprawled out on plastic-wrapped trays adorned with price stickers reading "FLESH" and "Billions of Animals Are Abused and Violently Killed Because You Eat Meat. Get Help!"

Cows are much tastier. Human is too dry and tough, hardly anyone knows how to cook it right.

Still, nothing wrong with long pork every once in awhile.

If we are not supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

Many people like to ascribe human qualities to all animals, but very few are sentient beings--they aren't self-aware. As for non-human sentient creatures, I don't kill or eat chimps, binobos, gorillas, dolphins, whales, or other humans.

But here's a fact that PETA conviently overlooks: humans were designed by nature to eat vegetables and meat. Lions and tigers eat meat, as do many other animals--and a few plants. Humans who eat meat aren't sinning; they're behaving in a perfectly natural manner.

I know several farmers who raise cattle, and they feel no guilt about it. For those of you who don't want to eat meat, don't eat it. For those of us who do, bon apetit. :)

That would be interesting to see PETA protesting against lions in the wild. I'd like to see how well that one would go over.

Your post was correct in almost all aspects except the above. There are more animals being researched and identified everyday that have self awareness. Pigs, chickens, in fact many bird species just to name a couple. Sentience as we know it, no, but self awareness, absolutely.

I don't eat a lot of meat but I do believe we can humanly farm animals for human consumption.I got no problem with that but do be aware that they have intelligence and self awareness. We just hadn't researched it up until recently. New Scientist Magazine has a great selection of articles regarding this.

I have a particular c0ck I had caught wild. I had to clip his wings so he couldn't fly out of the pen.

Over the months, he has become accustom to my presence.

Now, my c0cks wing feathers have grown back out and he flies over the fence.

When he sees me going to feed the chicks, he runs up to me and waits for me to open the door so he can get back in.

He has learned trust.

That will come in handy for when it's time to butcher him.

I have one crazy c0ck there.

He knows enough to fly out but, can't figure out how to fly back in.

He's so funny, I just might keep that c0ck around a while.
