than the originals....I know I've done this B4, but I don;t feel like looking for the old thread right now I'm listening to Alison Krauss doing a Beatles song "I Will" from her live cd with Union Station better than the FAb 4? Oh my yes

Terrible example ... Britney Spears covering "I Love Rock And Roll" from Joan Jett ... please someone shoot her Good example ... Van Halen covering "Pretty Woman" from Roy Orbison

i really like Metallica`s version of 'Whiskey In The Jar' better than Thin Lizzy`s (or any other old recording of it, from Ireland, or thereabouts).

Marilyn Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams are Made of This was pretty cool. And there are several remakes of Cats in the Cradle that I've heard, the best so far is by Ugly Kid Joe.

I thought the Greatful Dead's version of "Bobby McGee" was better than Joplins. Of course most of the Dead's songs are covers.

"Lovers in a Dangerous Time" Studio versions The 1984 version by Bruce Cockburn is great and I love it. But the 1991 version by The Barenaked Ladies is in my opinion, an improvement on an already great version.

I really do love Leonard Cohen but almost any cover of Hallelujah is better than the original.
