Observe them for awhile, and craft an off-beat and applicable line based on first (or second or tenth) impresssion gathered. (Some may be content to sit in a corner and stalk with the eyes til a killer hook crosses their thoughts).
Also, the ever-popular time-tested walk up and "Hi!" gets their attention pretty well. Just be prepared to follow that up with a witticism of sorts to charm them into a conversation :) |

I like to go with the simple "Hi" method... No matter what you do, you risk rejection, So I at least like to keep it real, if I'm gonna go down in a blaze of fail... No guts no glory.
