Small steps, baby steps
One at a time
To some they seem so big
First you must learn to stand
On your own
The you take that first step
Gingerly, fearfully
Afraid you will fall
To many it may not seem like much
But to the ones who are taking that first step
Its the greatest accomplishment in the world
For those of us who have watched that first step
The tears that fall are tears of joy
I watch him now putting one foot in front of the other
Walking up hills
Down hills
Up stairs
Down stairs
Walking Tyson on the beach at the lake
Holding his wifes hand walking through the mall
He's come so far
The tears still fall for me
As I watch him do this all
Amazed at his strength,courage, determination and conviction
Proud to call him a man
Even prouder to call him nephew...
