I love swap meets and yard sales.Oh. And dumpster diving. Best place to dumpster dive is either at the middle class apartment complexes, or apartment complexes that are around collage campuses when school is out for the year. JACKPOT!!!!!!!!

dumpster diving? now i used to do that yrs ago. this one apt that i used to live you were able to find almost anything.. i found a shelf in perfect shape. one of the neighbors threw away these old cups that had solid gold triming on them..(no they wernt fake gold)
and i still have them
also found a cable box

Best dumpster diving item I found was A silver dollar collection that I sold for 3,000 dollars. Like. What were those people thinking????

I used to go to auctions quite a bit. Best buy I ever got was a very old oak rocker. It was the first item up for sale and it was cold and they had no chairs. It was going to be a long sale. So I bought it for 20 bucks went up and got it and plopped it down right up front and stayed all day..........smokin

I love to rummage through other people ****. laugh

Although I have never found anything really exciting or to brag about.. I always look at what people have and what they leave at the side of the road and if it's in good condition I will take it and make use of it.

The search continues for something exciting.

I was living once next to a very affluent town. Twice a year they had 'trash day' meaning anything that couldn't be put in the regular trucks day. A friends daughter was having a baby. I was driving and stopped short. There were a brand new bassinet, baby carriage and stroller. I asked her if her daughter needed those items, and we went back and got them. That was a great find!

When I lived down south I was a picker(yes'I watch the show & drool!)& have found alot of stuff I kept for myself. Most noteworthy was an early 30's floor radio that I refinished & even got working.

About 7-8 yrs. ago I decorated a restaurant with yard sale/barn sale items I bought. Furniture and decor stuff. Had a country/homey feel to it...very welcoming.

I LOVE garage sales and flea markets!!! Best deal I came across was a collection of angels (which I collect). Some were just nice little statues but among them were also Willow Trees and Lenox angels. The smallest was 5 inches up to 12 inches. There were 8 angels total and I got them all for 5 bucks!!
