Honest right??? Ok....well....first thing that turned me off was your pictures....guy, you're 28..I mean...it was ok when you were 18 to dress up like a thug, now it's just tired. Second thing, maybe it's just me, but spelling...yikes. Now don't get all upset with me....you asked for honest. I'm sure you are a great guy, fun and funny, just the gun picture!! Good luck.

I agree whole heartedly  Your pix are not friendly - and why do you need to have a picture of your gun? Unless you are a gang banger criminal looking to get jumped-in - this is a dating site - not thug love. Dressing like a thug is never “cute” even at 18 years old. It’s tragic. Use paragraph breaks in your essay and use spelling and grammar check. You write with a 7th skill level. I promise you, many women want a well educated man or at least someone that can properly communicate. I didn’t get through your essay because it’s hard to read but STOP with the “lol”. That is not a way to express humor in your writing and it's immature. Use descriptive phrases or anecdotes. When written properly, the reader will know the tone. Using "lol" is vacuous; it reminds me of bubbleheads that can’t form a sentence. You said "If someone crosses you – you will bring them down hard"? I would consider NOT threatening your audience. Your audiences on this site are WOMEN. You are trying to attract women; you are not applying for the Mexican Mafia. Your headline is just wrong all over the place. Again with referring to the gun? Oy! Upload better, more friendly pix and work on your essay.  Also join the forums to meet active members.  |

Yikes. I think you should take all advice into consideration of course, but you will attract a match if you are honest about yourself... ...therefore, I would not worry about spelling if it is not your forte. If you dont happen to converse in formal register, then you would be misrepresenting yourself if you changed your 'essay' to reflect a different manner of speaking. I can assure you that there are women who are poor spellers and speak with informal grammar. There are also women who may be skilled in these areas, but are not bothered by someone elses lack thereof. This is the type of woman you would, and probably should attract if you do not change that aspect of your profile. You are absolutely right. My biggest pet peeve is improper use of the English language, and correcting usage is always something I suggest when I see poor English aptitude. I miss the bigger picture, which you illuminated, and that is "be yourself". This is a problem that would bother me - a deal breaker; therefore, if a guy veiled himself in a profile, I would feel deceived. Good advice, KLC.  |

it would be easy if i was brought up with the english lang..in my family the first thang we were tought was italian.an italian is big time diff in spelling.my grand parents an aunts an uncle's don't speek english that well i am first gen american...an i have a Acc in child psychology....thanks an as for the gun i will take it down...lol thanks melody

Put up friendlier pics...u need to smile
 so you will seem more approachable. Also shorten your about me section...or at least break it up into smaller paragraphs for an easier read. You don't have to tell everything about yourself in your profile....leave some things unsaid so that u will have stuff to talk about when u get messaged. Just keep it short and sweet but try to display your best attributes and accomplishments. The AA degree in child psychology is good. Best of luck! |
