see im on the opposite side..usualy when i send the compliment its because i want to use it as a icebreaker..but if they sent me a thanks but not interested id be ok with that cause i know they probably hear it alot and just figure its another person trying to hit on them  Girls who don't feed off of the superficial compliments can weed-out the bad ones for the sincere compliments. It's nice to hear a meaningful - he's not trying to get into my pants - compliment. These are rare and appreciated by MOST women.  Well. it's nice to get a compliment.....I don't get many "wanting to get into my pants"-type ones....but that's okay.

On onther site, I sent a message to a female, and she replies, "Thank you but your to old for me" lmao, just cause I compliment a women, does not mean that I want to date her???  I was brought up to be nice and polite to others, I thought I was being nice, just commenting on her smile, and now I want her ????? Oh well, hope everyone is having a great weekend. Welcome to the internets. This is one reason I never write to anybody first. There are 6372 other reasons, as well. |

I've had people compliment me and after thanking them, they continued to post to me. Not wanting to encourage them, I stopped writing. So, on these sites, guess it goes both ways.  Exactly. I try to be polite when people I may not be interested in approach me via email, however, I realize this is a dating site and most people are not wasting time sending emails to strangers just to be nice. They are looking for something. If I'm sure I'm not what they're looking for I tell them pretty quick. When I see someone has accidentally eyeballed my profilr, I check theirs out as well. If I relate to them, I congratulate them and wish them well. If the gal is really young, I make sure to let them know I have no interest in gals younger than my kids. A couple of 'em have kept in touch, letting me know how they are and how life is going. I have had some young gals from other countries tell me how much they'd like for me to be their man. They wanna' love me long time. I tell them, my best time now, is about 20 minutes twice a week.

That's why I said in another topic, that some people think way too far into emails or going out to 1 date. I sent many compliments around all over the place and I did have encounter women, who would be saying stuff like this. At one instance I wrote completely unrelated, basically it was a compliment and just something funny, because she had a fire behind her and she was blond I wrote "How is the firestarting going with you? :-)" Basically I was referring to an 80s movie (Firestarter), not sure if she figured that one out.. but instead I got a very monotonous response saying "Hi. I have read your comment, thank you but I don't think we would make a good couple." LOL!

I've found people have issues with compliments in general. I wrote some guy of some lovely photography pictures he'd loaded. Not interested in him, but the shots were gorgeous. I get back a "thanks, but not interested".... Ummm, okay then. Wasn't what I mean, but whatever.
