Topic: Depressing Classical or Jazz | |
---|---|
I'm looking for any suggestions as to depressing classical or jazz music. I am aware that "classical" is, in fact, a time range for music and not a style but I'm sure you understand I'm using it in the connotative sense.
I'm looking for something dark and haunting and depressing. Sort of like - Terence Blanchard performing Saeta by Gil Evans. (Jazz) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvH67ODcJB8 Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. (Classical) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQVeaIHWWck Any suggestions or help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

That's actually one of my favorite Beethoven pieces...and I don't feel it as dark or depressing at all. I have tons of classical, let me look around.
Not a huge jazz fan.. |

Mozart is pretty good. If you want something more current you can look into Clint Mansell or Hans Zimmer. For something a tad more trippy you could try out Charlie Clouser.
Hans Zimmer has some really smooth melodic stuff, think Black Hawk Down. Clint Mansell can hit some slow slids and beats, something like you would hear from Lord of the Rings. Charlie Clouser did the score for every single one of the Saw movies, I really need not say more, he is just brilliant. Hans Zimmer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWAhVbayGv4 Clint Mansell - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZCW5x8cmFE&feature=related - Full orchestrated theme, remix of Requiem for a Dream for Lord of the Rings.
