So I went and bought me a bicycle! I finally got one after a week of shopping! I know I wanted a Cruiser. I also wanted a Schwinn. So I hopped from store to store looking.

This is not the actual bike but it is what I bought. I got a Schwinn Riverside 7 speed Cruiser! For $208 at K-Mart I swung a real deal on this bike. It was hard to find becasue everywhere I looked was sold out or they wanted almost $300 for it. It is not like the lower end bikes Schwinn makes like the Southport. The Lakeshore is Gray and has the Schwinn "Eagle" chain guard. I was hoping for a Red schwinn but after searching I just could not hold out. Cream on black.

God this bike is just too sexy!bigsmile

Tomorrow I am gonna get my cruise on at the beach bike trail here!

Note the appointments on it like the grips and seat. This bike is patterned on a classic Strand Cruiser 5.

My test ride was SMOOTH! The beach ride should be better!

So what do you two wheel on (NOT GAS POWERED!)?

I just aquired (for free) an old Fuji racebike. It works and it's great, although I'm used to the quick shift placed on the steering, and this one has it on the frames, but still it was free.

looks like this, but it's white/silver

Fujis are actually great bikes. I used to have a "Sun Tour" with the Shimano Speed Shift Derailleurs, fiberglass rims, Super thin tires, and the shifters on the handles so I could toggle them with my thumbs. I got it with a broken axle. That was easy to fix since I had tons of parts at the time. It was a great bike I regret selling.

Depending on the year it was made even rusted Schwinn Cruisers are worth a lot of money. If you have one with Drum Brakes you may want to think SERIOUSLY about having it professionally restored. The Klunker 5 with front and read drum brakes in all original mint condition are worth what cars are! Even fully restored ones are worth a LOT of money. Pre-War Schwinns are also worth major bucks!

I have one of those "hybrid" bikes (it's a Schwinn) that are made for on and off road use. I don't use it as much as I would like or should, but it's fun. I did find out that a 41 year old cannot ride a wheelie nearly as far as he could when he was 16! My son was mightily impressed at the spectacular crash I demonstrated for him, though! laugh

Trek mountain bike. The flat-rolling hills of MI. are actually more fun than the real mountains.

That is so classic looking! The Schwinn it is patterned after is worth a small fortune. Electras are a little spendy but DAMN they look good.

Now your gas powered bike?

GO TEAM HONDA!

This is my gas powered ride...

Except mine is A LOT cleaner and has only 670 some odd miles on it!

Dude...I will bet my sister that that bike will never see 200 miles. I will be stunned if it sees 100. Nothing personal against you man. I am sure your fat @ss will look great in the yellow lycra plum smuggler biking shorts. (Technically, you can now legitimately tell everyone that "yeah...I'm a biker")

People who ride bikes, do it cause they love it....not cause they are trying to force themselves to do something alien. Runners just take off running...while the people who own treadmills have thier laundry hanging on them. The people who will just jump up and grab a tree limb to do pull ups or will just drop to do push ups and sit ups have no need for a Bowflex...that is why those things are ALWAYS listed in the classifieds. (every last one of them are brand new)

I was raised in a fighting school with a full gym. All the weights and equipment are long gone..but, we still exercize. No equipment is needed ...cause equipment dont get the job done.

On the upside...Popular Science Mag has a gas motor attatchment for the front wheel for just over $100 that will get over 100 miles to the gallon top speed of 28mph.

Let the booing and hissing COMMENCE!
