IM? Yeah, that's the best way to feel someone’s arms wrapped around you. Unless you are proactive in long distance dating via travel, you will be hard pressed to get the attention you desire via IM or email. If you just want attention and conversation without the human element - you came to the right place; however, there are many examples of LDR successes. I love long distance romance but I only seek guys that are serious about travel. Most are only IM serial daters and will never actually want to meet. Picture/webcam addicts are empty relationships. I wish you well.

Hey now I met my doll through a web cam!! (cost me $300 and dilvery charge and I had to inflate her!!)

I see where pen pals and IM buddies have a place - and I know not all IM'ers are players but the thought of being on a "list" of IM girlfriends/boyfriends doesn't appeal to me. People have to find their place with online dating. It's not for everyone. Unfortunately, some people use online dating exclusively. I like the balance of both meeting online for LRD dating (traveling/email, etc) and dating someone in my town. The great thing about having an LRD is that I can fly home with many miles apart. I don’t have to deal with, “Can I come over?” or thoughts of “are you going home anytime soon?” when I want my space!
