Illusion By Moonlight
Through the blackened dark of night Cuts a single blade of light, Spilling upon a lone shadow Whose gaze is downward cast. Though so empty and cold, Within the mortal confine, Each breath is drawn in thinly, As if barely containing life. Soft wisps of strings Cry their entrance firm As a dainty voice Breathes her essence Upon this lone shadow of the night. Frozen to the ground, Feeling beauty's sting, A trembling shadow views An illusion, or so it seems. Her breath is slowly drawn As she slowly sips in life, Her visage to him is splendor, A lady of moonlight. Feeling all too cautious, Lest his vision break. He spies a silver tear Upon her porcelain face. A moment wrapped in silence, Yet provoking feelings lost, He dares to bear his voice And beaks the stillness at his cost. "Thou lady clothed in moonlight, Kissed by stars above, Share with me thine sorrow And cast thine heartache off." Her silent form so downcast, Bows her head toward earth, She answers with a tongue of silence, So profound, this pain from her. The lone shadow takes her hand, So cold is she like ice, And pleads to him with softened "no" As she disperses in the night. "A vision may per hap." He thinks in sorrowed thought, "Such beauty from a mind Of a vision never caught." Fadedspirit 6/22/2010 |
