ha ha well here i am again the oddball.. i dont believe romance has a thing to do with money. to me its treasured times together. my most romantic date ever was when my bf and i went to dinner<not expensive> and we sat outside by the bonfire music came on and he started singing to me lol.. with the song.. omg lol a guy came to the table after and said if that isnt love i dont know what is! everyone was staring lmao! then off for a drive when it got dark he took me to the top of the mountain.. and we layed on the hood of his car on our backs holding hands looking at all the stars u could see from there talking.. on the way home from the mountain ran out of gas lol i was scared for no gas station for a long ways! thank goodness for coasting and shutting off the car! another thing he did... we took off for a drive i asked where we were going.. he said i dont know... yes we drove to the big mountain and dinner at the lodge was not cheap.. but u know what was romantic about it? was not the spendy food.. it was the idea behind it.. to not tell me and the drive and tie together there...the surprise factor was all romantic!

to me touch and closeness is the most romantic thing ever and that doesnt cost a dime! to lay my head on someones chest to have them squeeze me like they never want to let go.. that is romance!!!!! to do something outta the norm for someone and make it a special moment together for the two of you.. someone to give you the feeling that you are the only other one that exists at times is so special as well...

and to edit*.. no i dont believe its dead.. not if you are with the right person.

i think technology has ruined it...everything is now so easy and people have become so lazy with text and facebook etc it would be nice to see someone with old fashioned values once in awhile

and i do believe atlantis is right.. i think tv has lots to do with it not showing as much.. i say turn the damn tv off!

I believe if you show someone romance, eventually you will get it back from them. Give what you want to receive.

I'll agree with the TV/Hollywood like Atlantis said, as well as texting, phone stuff. I carry my phone when out on a date, but it's on silent, and I am not living on it. The person is the one who is important, and the fastest turn-off and date-killer is someone who is frittering around on their phone. Heck, even a camping trip or a day out, I've got the phone quiet so I can have fun. Check it once or twice a day and if it's someone I like, I'll drop a few lines, but otherwise it can wait till I'm back in the real world.

I enjoy my cheesy romance books, because I like the thought of the romance, but I also know that they are not real. Would like it to be, but I'm a realist. That's why I go for werewolves, vampires, shapeshifters and gargoyles. LOL!

I don't believe romanticism is dead, but it's being ignored.

As a hopeless romantic who has never received a rose from anyone who isn't related to her, I wonder myself if romance is dead or not.
