I love it! You get a whole different perspective on a person when you can actually see their facial expressions, etc. You can even talk to them without using your cell minutes!

I think it's good for online dating. That way you can see who the person really is before you meet. It's, also, good for LDR

Yeah, I'm generally uncomfortable using them except with close friends and family. In general, I don't think they are very flattering...or maybe it's just me, lol! I do think they are a great tool to determine the validity of someone's photos/appearance though. |

it is recommended that you put a condom over your monitor for the first few minutes just to be on the safe side

For the most part, I have no desire to sit and watch someone typing at their computer. Pictures work fine for me. Seeing them in person works fine. Nor do I have the desire to watch them "give me a show". |

I agree that web camming is the way forward. I much prefer talking to someone, or in my case, ANYONE, by this medium. lol.
I mostly use yahoo, but sometimes the picture quality isn't all that good, so I also have windows live, and use that method for cams, and yahoo for voice if the canera quality is distorted on yahoo. I also tend to shy away from people who always ask to see me on cam, when they themselves don't also possess a cam. |
